Ron was born on the 1st of May 1941 at King Edward hospital in Perth, Western Australia. Ron was educated at East Perth State school and then at Hale College.
Ron left school at the age of fourteen to work for Atkins (WA) in the automotive section as a messenger boy. After leaving Atkins, Ron then worked for a number of automotive companies including Atwoods' and Sydney Atkinson Motors before finally progressing through AMCAP from a Phone Room Operator to a Country Field Salesman and then finally a Sales Manager.
Ron always had an ambition to run his own business, so after 27 years with AMCAP, he left and at the age of fifty commenced business as "Southern Parts Supply" in Kenwick, Western Australia.
Whilst all this was going on, Ron found time to marry Fay, adopt Scott and Janelle and has recently been blessed by the arrival of grandson Taine.
Ron took up residency in Thornlie in 1975 and joined the Rotary Club of Thornlie in 1991. Ron has held several directorships within the club, culminating in the Presidency for 2008 - 2009.
